Description Description 17 Pounder Anti-Tank Gun and Crew – Airfix A06361 The British Army’s 17-Pounder Anti-Tank Gun operated as the largest of three of the British forces’ anti-tank weapons during WWII. Development began in 1941 with deliveries arriving with the Royal Artillery in August of 1942. Operations with the 17-Pounder began in 1943 during the North African campaign events of the Battle of Medenine. Following the war, the 17-Pounder moved on to operate as a field weapon.
