Description Description Agano Light Cruiser Kit – Tamiya 31314 This is Tamiya’s 1/700 scale plastic model of the Agano Light Cruiser. The Agano was in service with the Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) during the Second World War. Named after the Fukushima Agano River, the Agano was the first of the four vessels commissioned in the Agano light cruiser class, intended to replace the obsolete light cruisers in the Imperial Japanese Navy at thje time. Funding was sanctioned in the 4th Naval Armaments Supplement Program of 1939, although production was delayed due to a lack of capacity. Like other vessels of her class, Agano was supposed to be used as a destroyer flotilla flagship. The model is 24.7cm long when fully assembled.
